Welcome to our website

Jaimie and I are both graduates of Hyles-Anderson College, Class of 1984 and 1985 respectively. We came to Guatemala in August of 1991, having served the Lord previously in Puerto Rico as missionaries to the deaf from 1985-1989 under Bill Rice Ranch Missions of Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

In 1990 we became independent missionaries sent under the authority of our church, the First Baptist Church of Hammond, Indiana. We believed God had called us to establish deaf ministries in Baptist churches in a country which had suffered a 40 year old civil war. Not long after being here, however, we felt there were no churches we could freely work with, and the deaf people we had won needed a solid church to attend; therefore in 1993 under the recommendation of our pastor, Dr. Jack Hyles, we established the Efata Baptist Church in Mixco County, Guatemala City. This, our first church was an independent, fundamental, Bible believing Baptist church for the deaf and hearing. The Lord greatly blessed our church, with other missions being started in different cities and villages of the country. Responding to the need of training the next generation of preachers, in 1999 we began the Fundamental Bible Baptist Institute as another ministry of our church. Since then, we have seen many couples and single Christians go into full time service in Guatemala and elsewhere. I have also been able to teach  in other Bible institutes in America as a visiting professor.

In 2008 we started the Colinas Baptist Bible Mission, in the Minerva sector of Mixco County. The Lord has blessed us with new families and individuals who have come to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. Besides our regular weekly services, and institute, our church also has a Bible and Gospel literature distribution ministry. The doctrine of the Holy Scriptures has often been neglected by many fundamental Hispanic pastors and missionaries whom oftentimes ignore the issue of the Alexandrian method of modern translations. This is why God allowed us to be a part of a group of over 200 concerned national pastors and missionaries who desired to return to the purity of God´s words for our Hispanic people. In most fundamental institutes and seminaries, hispanic pastors and workers were not being taught the dangers of modern versions. God gave us the ears of many fellow pastors and missionaries throughout Latin America, and were even invitied to collaborate in the publication of the Reina-Valera Gomez Spanish Bible back in 2000. After years of  hard work and prayer, we have evidenced His blessing by the acceptance and distribution of thousands of copies of whole Bibles and Gospel portions.
In 2015 we began a medical ministry called "Elayon" which is Greek for "healing oil". It is a naturopathic clinic with an holistic approach, treating the whole patient, body, soul and spirit. We are working with all the legal permits required by local authorities. Our purpose is to serve God´s people first, then the general public. Our medical work has been instrumental in witnessing and leading many precious souls to Christ.
We covet your prayers that God would continue to use us here. Jaimie and I have four children and thus far, two beautiful grandchildren!
